The South Carolina Gamecocks have gotten some positive momentum on the recruiting trail in recent weeks. In the last week, head coach Shane Beamer landed four commits, including from a pair of blue-chips in wide receiver Iveon Lewis and cornerback Kelvin Millington.Â
Over the next few days, the Gamecocks have several other big targets committing, including five-star cornerback Joshua Dobson and defensive end Marquise Evans on July 1.Â
Several other targets will be committing later this week, including four-star safety Davion Jones, set for July 2, and offensive tackle Nate Carlson, who will commit on July 3.Â
Before things majorly shift inside the major recruiting rankings, let's take a look at where the Gamecocks' 2027 class stands. For this, we'll look at where South Carolina's class sits inside the national and SEC rankings before a huge week for head coach Shane Beamer.Â
Per the 247Sports Composite, the Gamecocks ranks 57th overall nationally. Inside the SEC in those rankings, South Carolina's class checks in 16th overall, which puts them last in the conference.Â
According to Rivals/On3, South Carolina checks in at 37th overall, including a 14th ranking inside the conference. Â

The Gamecocks' 2026 class ranked 15th nationally in the 247Sports Composite, so Coach Beamer obviously has some work to do.Â
Depending on where some of the big-name targets end up, the Gamecocks' ranking nationally and within the conference could shoot way up in just a few days. Â
