The South Carolina Gamecocks are hard at work on the recruiting trail for their 2027 recruiting class. In recent days, the Gamecocks have landed some big-time prospects, including offensive lineman James Ross and four-star wide receiver Iveon Lewis, who flipped from Kentucky

And the Gamecocks could be landing another target soon. On Thursday evening, four-star cornerback Kelvin Millington will announce his verbal commitment. He will be choosing between his final schools in South Carolina, Virginia Tech and Texas Tech. Millington will announce while he is at The Opening, an annual recruiting showcase hosted by Nike.

Millington is a four-star prospect out of Bogart, Ga., who plays high school football out of North Oconee. The cornerback has been on South Carolina's radar since May. He unofficially visited the Gamecocks in May and was so impressed with what he saw that he booked an official visit with South Carolina on June 5.

He also took visits to Texas Tech on June 12 and was at Virginia Tech on June 19. He also holds offers from the likes of Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Georgia Tech and Wake Forest. 247Sports logged a prediction that gives South Carolina a 100% chance of landing the cornerback, which could be a great sign for Gamecock fans on Thursday evening.

The cornerback is rated by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 41 overall player in his position group, and the No. 42 overall prospect from his home state of Georgia.

According to his 247Sports page, last season he had 62 total tackles with 14 pass breakups, three interceptions, two of which he returned for a touchdown.

Millington is expected to commit around 6:15 p.m. ET. South Carolina's class is ranked 62nd nationally in the country, but landing a prospect like Millington would jump that number up at least a few spots, most likely.
