The South Carolina Gamecocks are making some serious moves on the recruiting trail. In recent weeks, head coach Shane Beamer has landed the likes of 4-star wide receiver Javien Robinson out of Pennsylvania, and 4-star athlete Brayden Tyson

As the summer months begin to heat up in Columbia, so are prospects coming to officially visit South Carolina. One of those prospects set to step on-campus soon is 4-star cornerback Kelvin Millington.

Per Kevin Miller of Gamecock Central, Millington, a North Oconee prospect, was so impressed by what he saw this past weekend while unofficially visiting the Gamecocks, he booked an official visit for South Carolina. It sounds like he was impressed by what he saw for his unofficial:

Millington's visit is officially scheduled for June 5. The cornerback out of Bogart, Ga., is listed by 247Sports as the No. 38 overall corner for 2027, and No. 42 overall out of his home state of Georgia. The Gamecocks first offered him in April, and it was his first offer from an SEC school.

He holds offers from the likes of Texas Tech, Virginia Tech, Cincinnati, Georgia Tech, Pitt and Wake Forest. He has a visit scheduled for June 12 at Texas Tech and June 19 for Virginia Tech.

According to his 247Sports page, last season he had 62 total tackles with 14 pass breakups, three interceptions, two of which he returned for a touchdown.

Millington also plays basketball for his high school in North Oconee. Although it is still obviously early in his recruiting process, landing a prospect like the cornerback would be a huge get for the Gamecocks. The 2027 class is currently without a cornerback, ranking 25th overall nationally. The class does include 4-star safety Jernard Albright, but the corner position is a big need for South Carolina this cycle.

We'll see if South Carolina can lock down the big-time Georgia defensive back with a commitment in the coming weeks. At the very least, the Gamecocks could emerge as a finalist for Millington.
