The South Carolina Gamecocks added another member to their 2027 recruiting class on Tuesday. The Gamecocks landed their 10th member of the class as three-star offensive lineman James Ross committed to South Carolina.

The news, which was first reported by Gamecock Central, comes after Ross attended a South Carolina football camp earlier this month. Ross posted about his verbal commitment via his Instagram story:

Ross chose South Carolina despite holding offers from power-conference schools in Cincinnati, Georgia Tech, North Carolina and Rutgers. He also held offers from App State, East Carolina and Coastal Carolina, among others.

With his commitment, the offensive lineman has decided to stay close to home. Ross is a 6-foot-5, 290 pound offensive tackle from Columbia, S.C. who plays high school football out of nearby Ridge View High School.

According to the 247Sports Composite, Ross is rated as the No. 18 overall prospect in the state of South Carolina, and the No. 62 overall interior offensive lineman from the class of 2027.

The Gamecocks now have several offensive line prospects committed to their 2027 class, as Ross joins three-stars Will Endicott out of Prosper, Texas and Jaxon Elston from Oxford, Ala. Just last week, South Carolina landed a verbal commit from 315-pound Clayton Lee, who is an offensive tackle. The Gamecocks' class also includes offensive tackle John Archer, who committed in April.

South Carolina's 2027 class still ranks 67th nationally, and despite Ross' commitment, their class ranking isn't expected to change much. Congrats to Ross on his commitment, and welcome home!
