South Carolina Gamecocks' 2025 football recruiting class highlights

As of January 30, 2025, the South Carolina Gamecocks' football recruiting class is ranked 20th nationally and 12th in the Southeastern Conference (SEC), according to 247Sports Composite rankings.

The class comprises 26 commitments, including notable in-state talents. Among them is four-star wide receiver Donovan Murph from Irmo High School, who chose South Carolina over offers from Clemson, Colorado, Ole Miss, and Tennessee.

Notable Commitments:

Donovan Murph: A four-star wide receiver from Irmo High School in Columbia, South Carolina. Murph reclassified from the 2026 to the 2025 recruiting class and chose the Gamecocks over offers from Clemson, Colorado, Ole Miss, and Tennessee. He concluded his high school career with 153 catches for 2,412 yards and 29 touchdowns over two seasons.

Malik Clark: A four-star wide receiver from Rock Hill High School in Rock Hill, South Carolina; 6 feet 2 inches and weighing 170 pounds, he has made significant contributions to his high school football team. In his senior year, Clark caught 68 passes for 976 yards and 10 touchdowns, earning him all-state honors from the South Carolina Football Coaches Association. He was also selected to play in the prestigious Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas.

In the recruiting arena, Clark initially committed to Florida State University in July 2024 but decommitted in October 2024. He subsequently committed to the University of South Carolina on October 5, 2024, choosing the Gamecocks over other offers.

Lex Cyrus: A four-star wide receiver from Susquehanna Township High School in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Standing at 5 feet 10 inches and weighing 170 pounds, he is recognized for his exceptional speed and agility on the field. In July 2024, Cyrus committed to play for the Gamecocks over other offers, notably from Penn State.

During his junior year in 2023, Cyrus had a standout season with 67 receptions, totaling 1,115 yards and 13 touchdowns. He also contributed a touchdown in the return game. His performance earned him a four-star recruit rating, ranking him as the 35th wide receiver nationally and the 7th overall prospect in Pennsylvania for the class of 2025.

Brian Rowe Jr.: A four-star wide receiver from Jay M. Robinson High School in Concord, North Carolina. Standing at 6 feet tall and weighing 155 pounds, he has made significant contributions to his high school football team. In his junior year, Rowe caught 50 passes for 1,063 yards and 15 touchdowns, showcasing his exceptional receiving abilities. He also demonstrated versatility by scoring three punt return touchdowns and contributing defensively with two pass breakups. His performance earned him a selection to the prestigious Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas.

In the recruiting arena, Rowe committed to the University of South Carolina, joining the Gamecocks' 2025 class. His combination of speed, agility, and playmaking ability makes him a promising addition to their roster.

Jordon Gidron: A wide receiver from Columbia, South Carolina, who played high school football at Ridge View High School. Standing at 6 feet 2 inches and weighing 185 pounds, he has demonstrated significant talent both on the football field and in track and field events. Gidron had an impressive junior year, recording 45 receptions for 731 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Jayden Sellers: A wide receiver from South Florence High School in Florence, South Carolina. Standing at 5 feet 11 inches and weighing 175 pounds, he has been a key player for his high school football team.

In his sophomore year, Sellers caught 39 passes for 827 yards and 12 touchdowns, contributing to South Florence's South Carolina AAAA state championship. In Sellers' junior year, he continued to excel, recording 59 receptions for 880 yards and 14 touchdowns, and continued to excel into his senior year with 1,344 total yards, including 880 receiving yards and 464 rushing yards, with 14 receiving touchdowns.

In October 2023, Sellers committed to the University of South Carolina, joining his older brother, quarterback LaNorris Sellers.

Damola Ajidahun: An offensive lineman from Duluth, Georgia, who flipped his commitment from Georgia Tech to South Carolina. Born in England, Ajidahun moved to the United States in the fifth grade and began playing football as a freshman in high school. In his 2023 season, Ajidahun appeared in five games, recording 4 solo tackles and 13 assisted tackles, totaling 17 tackles, averaging 3.4 tackles per game. He also registered 1.5 tackles for loss.

His combination of size, athleticism, and dedication makes him a valuable addition to the South Carolina Gamecocks' offensive line.

Anthony Addison: An edge rusher from Sumter High School in Sumter, South Carolina. Standing at 6 feet 4 inches and weighing 215 pounds, he has made significant contributions to his high school football team. In his junior Year, Addison recorded 96 tackles, 25 tackles for loss, and six sacks, contributing to Sumter's 11-2 season and a quarterfinal appearance in the South Carolina AAAAA playoffs. Addison also took snaps on offense during this season. In his senior year, Addison led Sumter to a 12-1 record and a spot in the State 5A semifinals. He accumulated 99 tackles, including 21.5 tackles for loss, and led the team with 9.0 sacks and 14 quarterback hurries. He also forced and recovered four fumbles

Addison committed to the University of South Carolina on April 12, 2024, and officially signed with the Gamecocks on December 4, 2024. He is ranked as a three-star prospect, 12th in South Carolina, and 45th among edge players in the class of 2025.

This recruiting class reflects head coach Shane Beamer's efforts to strengthen the team's roster with a mix of in-state talent and key out-of-state additions.
