In the last week, South Carolina football coach Shane Beamer has gotten on social media and teased out six commitments to the Gamecock program.

The first to go public from that group was linebacker/defensive back Jaquel Holman. Then, EDGE Kobby Sakyi-Prah joined him in the class. Next up, defensive back Chris Hatfield pledged his services to USC, and tight end Preston Douglas followed closely behind. On Friday, linebacker AJ Holloway announced his college choice was the University of South Carolina.

A sixth came on Friday night. Class of 2025 4-star in-state offensive lineman Shed Sarratt announced on Instagram that he would be staying in the Palmetto State and joining the South Carolina football program next year. He picked the South Carolina Gamecocks over a top-6 that also included the NC State Wolfpack, Florida State Seminoles, Colorado Buffaloes, Tennessee Volunteers, and Florida Gators. The Gamecocks have at least one more announced commitment as Sarratt's decision was revealed on Friday.

The Gaffney High School standout has been a fast riser in the recruiting rankings in recent months and after being unranked for a long time, he is now a 4-star according to both On3 and 247Sports.

Likely an interior offensive lineman at the college level, Sarratt is a 6'3"/6'4" player with a strong lower half who should make an excellent guard. He has played inside and outside in high school, so tackle still could be an option.

The big fella seems to have a traditional offensive lineman mentality. He is aggressive, and there are more than a few instances on his film in which he appears to enjoy driving defenders into the dirt.

Sarratt is a capable athlete up front, hopefully meaning good things for him as a pass protector and as a pull player. After he gets some coaching and spends some time in a college weight room and nutrition program, he could develop into an elite offensive lineman.

You can watch some of his film here.
