South Carolina football had a big weekend in recruiting. Gamecock head coach Shane Beamer and his staff welcomed a large group of visitors to campus, and Beamer posted on Twitter/X his patented "#WelcomeHome" message five times to indicate that the Gamecocks had received five commitments from the weekend.

One prospect, in-state athlete Jaquel Holman, went public with his decision relatively quickly. The others didn't announce over the weekend.

However, by the time Monday evening rolled around, another one of the mystery pledges came forward with his announcement.

Kobby Sakyi-Prah, a native of Roswell, Georgia, announced on social media that Columbia would be his home at the college level. He picked South Carolina over offers from other SEC schools like Mississippi State, Arkansas, and Kentucky. Southern Cal, Minnesota, Georgia Tech, West Virginia, and Louisville were among the other schools that had offered him a scholarship.

At 6'3" and about 225 pounds, Sakyi-Prah is not the biggest EDGE prospect on the Gamecock board, but he plays with physicality. He is not afraid to take on big uglies in the trenches and does a good job of using his hands to shed blockers when engaged.

He is a good athlete who has played outside linebacker, defensive end, and even defensive tackle for Roswell High School. It is extremely unlikely he will be a tackle and the college level, but depending on how his body develops, he could play as an outside 'backer in USC's 3-3-5 defense or as an end in the 3-3-5 or 4-2-5.

Though not overly tall, Sakyi-Prah has long arms and a good frame that could add more weight. That length and his plus-athleticism give him the appearance of a player who could be a really good pass rusher at the next level.
