The South Carolina Gamecocks and head coach Shane Beamer are on a roll, folks. Just 24 hours after landing blue-chip defensive lineman John Archer III, the Gamecocks added another wide receiver out of Georgia to its 2027 class.
On Thursday evening, South Carolina landed a verbal commitment from three-star receiver DJ Huggins. The news of his commitment was first reported by Hayes Fawcett of Rivals:

Per the 247Sports Composite, Huggins is the No. 53 overall prospect out of the state of Georgia, and the No. 57 overall receiver for 2027. The 5-foot-10 wideout from Kennesaw, Ga. holds offers from several big-time schools, such as Georgia, Alabama, Clemson, Florida State and Virginia Tech, among several others.
Last season for Harrison, Huggins had 67 receptions for 1,127 and 12 touchdowns, averaging 16.8 yards per catch per MaxPreps.
With Huggins' commitment, South Carolina's 2027 class is now ranked 49th nationally. The Gamecocks are set to host a number of recruits this coming weekend, so this could be the start of a run for Beamer and the South Carolina staff.
Huggins is the lone receiver in South Carolina's 2027 class, so this was a big need for the Gamecocks.
