South Carolina head coach Shane Beamer has once again done what he does best, have a little fun and catch some flak for it. This time, it came in the form of a lighthearted TikTok of Beamer and his beautiful daughter dancing and singing along to the song in the video. Sweet. Simple. Wholesome.
But as always, someone had to ruin the moment.
An Ohio State fan account took a cheap shot on X (we are not reposting it here due to the vulgar language), using the clip as a punchline to suggest that Beamer isn't as serious of a coach as Ryan Day. Because, of course, showing up for your family during the offseason is somehow a competitive disadvantage of some sort?
Let's get real.
Beamer is a coach who shows up for his players and his kids. Who celebrates wins with joy and meets criticism with grace. Who doesn't take himself too seriously but takes this team, and its fanbase, very seriously. And if some random Buckeye can't see the strength in that kind of balance, that's on them.
Because Beamer isn't just one of the most entertaining personalities in college football, he is also building something meaningful in Columbia. From creative commitment videos to sideline swagger, Beamer has made South Carolina a program that players want to play for. He brings energy, recruiting momentum, and a genuine connection to the job. A family feel. A coach who can beat the brakes off Clemson, then go home and dance with his daughter like no one is watching.
That's not "mid." That is the kind of leadership and loyalty college football needs, coaches who love their families, love their teams, and aren't afraid to have a little fun. Gamecock Nation wouldn't trade the world for him, any Ryan Day of the week.
