South Carolina Football: 3rd #WelcomeHome in 3 days for Gamecocks

South Carolina football coach Shane Beamer posts #WelcomeHome on Twitter/X each time he is told by a player that he is committing to the Gamecocks. Earlier this week, it was still true that Carolina fans had not seen a #WelcomeHome about a non-transfer portal player since October when wide receiver Jayden Sellers (Florence, South Carolina) became the first player to commit to USC in the 2025 class.

In the last three days, however, the Gamecocks landed commitments from 4-star wide receiver Brian Rowe (Charlotte, North Carolina), in-state safety prospect Damarcus Leach (Abbeville, South Carolina), and, now, an un-named third player.

Beamer's third announcement since Tuesday afternoon has not yet revealed himself, but the teaser dropped just one day before 4-star EDGE Anthony Addison (Sumter, South Carolina) is set to make his public commitment. Addison is believed to be deciding between the South Carolina Gamecocks, Tennessee Volunteers, and Duke Blue Devils but has a number of other Power 5 scholarship offers.

If the Thursday #WelcomeHome is about Addison, the Sumter native would be the Gamecocks' second defensive commitment in the class and the first pass rusher to commit to the program in the '25 cycle.

In the past, commitments have come in bunches for South Carolina football, especially in the Shane Beamer era. With a ton of visitors coming to campus between now and next weekend's Garnet and Black Spring Game, it shouldn't shock fans at all if Beamer and company add to their commitment numbers in the not-too-distant future.

Though the Gamecocks have just these four players (Sellers, Rowe, Leach, and the un-named pledge from Thursday) committed in the '25 class so far, a 2026 prospect jumped on board back in August when 4-star Alabama quarterback Landon Duckworth committed. The Gamecocks also could bring in spring transfers after the transfer portal re-opens next week.
