South Carolina football fans have waited since October for a commitment in the class of 2025. Wide receiver Jayden Sellers, starting quarterback LaNorris Sellers' younger brother, pledged his services to the Gamecocks to become the first commitment in the '25 cycle. Since then, Shane Beamer and company have made in-roads with lots of players, but they have not secured another commitment.

That could be changing soon.

Major South Carolina football target Anthony Addison announced on Instagram that he will be making his commitment on April 12th. The Sumter, South Carolina native is considered a 4-star prospect by On3's industry ranking, and he seems to be deciding between the Gamecocks, the Duke Blue Devils, and the Tennessee Volunteers.

Addison has received several crystal balls to the South Carolina Gamecocks from 247Sports insiders and some On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine picks from On3's analysts.

As a player, Addison is an undersized EDGE player who has shown plenty of reason to think he can become an impact player in the college game if he puts on the needed size. He is 6'4" and 215 pounds right now, but if he can keep his plus-athleticism when he gains mass in a college strength and conditioning program, he can be a massive problem for offenses at the next level.

Addison has a good first step and speed around the edge of the offensive line. He is too quick for almost every tackle who tries to slow him down, and he has shown several moves on film that have helped him get into the backfield. He is adept at chasing down running backs from behind on sweep plays, as well.

Addison's length plays well with his athleticism as he is able to keep most tackles from getting their hands on him well. If a blocker is so concerned with his speed that they get on their heels, he uses his arms with good leverage to push the offensive player back into the play.

You can watch some of his film here.

***ARTICLE WAS EDITED TO CHANGE THE DATE TO APRIL 12th. Addison's original timer counted down to April 11th, but he has clarified since that his decision will come on Friday, April 12th.
