South Carolina football sent two representatives to the Reese's Senior Bowl. Wide receiver Xavier Legette and quarterback Spencer Rattler turned heads at the college all-star showcase's week of practice, and Rattler was even named the quarterback MVP of the American Team (as voted by his defensive teammates who played against him all week).

Legette did not suit up for the game as he battled an ankle injury, but Rattler did, and the South Carolina football standout had a great performance.

Wearing the #2 at the Senior Bowl (something that could never happen with the Gamecocks because Sterling Sharpe's number is retired), Rattler was a perfect 4-4 in his limited action, including an absolute DIME that went for a 29-yard touchdown to Georgia wide receiver Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint.

Thanks to his perfect play, Spencer Rattler was named the game's MVP.

Rattler's performance in the game and in practice this past week earned him lots of praise from voices all across the worlds of college football and the NFL. From analysts to "ball-knowers" to NFL Draft gurus, Spencer Rattler was the name that was brought up most frequently as a "stock up" candidate coming out of the Senior Bowl week.

He was noticeably better than all of the other quarterbacks who played in the Senior Bowl, and only Michael Penix (who elected to sit out of the game) even came close to matching Rattler's level of play at practice.

With names like Caleb Williams (who replaced Rattler at Oklahoma before he transferred to the Gamecocks), Drake Maye, and Jayden Daniels all virtually locked into being taken in the 1st round, Rattler likely is battling with Penix, Bo Nix, JJ McCarthy, and Michael Pratt for the QB4 spot in this year's draft. That pick could come anywhere from the end of the 1st round to the early points of the 4th, so the talented Rattler still has a lot of variance surrounding his draft stock.

The 2024 NFL Draft will take place in April, but Rattler will have two more opportunities to impress scouts and decision-makers at the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine and South Carolina Football's Pro Day.
