South Carolina football secured a major boost in the trenches as four-star defensive lineman Aiden Harris officially announced on social media that his recruitment was shut down. Harris reaffirmed his commitment to the Gamecocks, stating that he is "100% locked in" with South Carolina, signing with the Gamecocks alongside his twin brother, Andrew Harris, a four-star linebacker.

The 6-foot-3, 250-pound Harris has played across the defensive front in high school, but South Carolina plans to develop him as a defensive tackle in Travian Robertson's position room. Harris has a unique blend of size, explosive movement, and leverage that makes him one of the more versatile linemen in the nation. He is ranked as the No. 55 overall player in the 2026 class, per On3's industry rankings. Harris also checks in at No. 3 nationally among defensive lineman and ranked No. 4 overall in the state of North Carolina.
His post comes on the heels of his official visit weekend last month. Alongside the Harris twins who attended that visit was also Zyon Guiles, Keenan Britt, Landon Duckworth, Noah Clark and Kosci Barnes.
Since that visit, the momentum has swung heavily in South Carolina's favor for Harris. As the twins and Clark have all officially committed, the Gamecocks are also trending for both Duckworth and Barnes to make a decision soon.
Harris told GamecockCentral, “It just always felt like home here (at South Carolina). Even though I had my ups and downs with certain colleges, they were just one of the main schools to always be there for me." With Aiden Harris locked in, Shane Beamer and his coaching staff continue to build the defensive trenches of South Carolina football from the inside out with plenty of buzz still building.
