Former South Carolina forward Sania Feagin has found her new team in the WNBA. Last Friday, she was waived by the Los Angeles Sparks, to make room for the team signing guard Kania Williams.
It only took a few days on the free market for a team to snatch up Feagin. On Wednesday, the Portland Fire announced it had signed Feagin to a developmental contract.
welcome, @supremenia ❤️🔥

Since Feagin has been signed to the Fire as a developmental player, she will be allowed to practice and travel with the team all season, but she is allotted just 12 games during the regular season as a developmental player over the course of the WNBA season.
A developmental deal sounds exactly like what Feagin needs at the next level. Although Los Angeles drafted Feagin in the second round of the 2025 WNBA Draft with the No. 21 overall pick, she played in just 19 games in the last two seasons. Across those two years she averaged 1.1 points per game with 0.6 rebounds. She also suffered a leg injury at the beginning of this season that limited her production this year. In Portland, Feagin will get to play with some familiar faces. She will reunite with her former Los Angeles teammate Sarah Ashlee Barker. Feagin also played this offseason with Fire forward Bridget Carleton on ZVVZ USK Praha of the Czech Republic.
Feagin was at South Carolina from 2021-2025, and was on the Gamecocks' national championship team in 2024. Her last season at South Carolina was her best yet, as she started in all 39 games for the Gamecocks and averaged 8.1 points per game with 4.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game.
The Portland Fire are currently 8-9 on the season, and take on the Chicago Sky on Wednesday evening. Congrats to Feagin on her new deal!
