South Carolina's 2027 recruiting class is looking to add to its class as the calendar enters the summer months. A long-time South Carolina target, four-star receiver Iveon Lewis, has moved up his commitment date to this weekend.
Although Lewis was previously set to commit on July 1 following several scheduled visits, he will now commit on Saturday, May 9. Lewis has South Carolina among his final schools along with Georgia, Virginia Tech, Kentucky and Maryland. He named the Gamecocks as one of his finalists in late April.

Lewis is rated as the No. 43 overall receiver from the class of 2027, and is the No. 6 ranked prospect out of his home state of Virginia, per the 247Sports Composite. His official visit to South Carolina is scheduled for June 1, although it's unclear if he will keep the visit on the books if he commits elsewhere. South Carolina offered Lewis in October of 2023.
As for which school is leading for Lewis, it appears as though the Gamecocks could fall behind the Kentucky Wildcats. 247Sports has a prediction for Lewis landing with the Wildcats, as does On3Sports.
Over two seasons tracked by MaxPreps, Lewis had 71 receptions for 1,736 yards with 24 touchdowns. He plays high school football out of Huguenot High School in Richmond.
While the Gamecocks did just sign receiver DJ Huggins in recent weeks, South Carolina can use all the wideouts it can get in its 2027 class.
Lewis' commitment is set for 3 p.m. ET on Saturday.
