The South Carolina Gamecocks are gearing up for a huge recruiting weekend in Columbia. The Gamecocks were already expected to host five-star cornerback Joshua Dobson, who has been a longtime target of South Carolina.
But on Friday, the Gamecocks officially added another big-time prospect in four-star OT Nate Carson. Carson, who is from Columbia, S.C. confirmed he would be in Columbia this weekend on his personal X account, which included a tag for South Carolina head coach Shane Beamer:

Carson is the nation's No. 23 offensive tackle for 2027, and is rated by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 6 prospect out of South Carolina. He plays high school football at nearby Irmo High School. The highly-touted offensive tackle has been busy taking plenty of visits in recent weeks. He visited Clemson on May 29, and took one to Georgia on June 5. He also visited Colorado and head coach Deion Sanders last weekend, with his South Carolina visit slated for one of his last ones.
Like the case with Dobson, the Gamecocks hosting Carson as one of his last official visits could be a good sign. South Carolina has a chance to make a big lasting impression with the offensive tackle.
Rivals has logged a prediction of Carson with an 80% chance of landing at Georgia, with South Carolina coming in at 7%. Colorado offered Carson in late May of this year, whereas the Gamecocks were the very first school to offer him in September of 2024, nearly two full years ago.
Carson and Dobson will be on-hand in Columbia this weekend, as well as one other big name prospect who head coach Shane Beamer is attempting to flip. Four-star wide receiver Iveon Lewis, who verbally committed to Kentucky earlier this month, will also be on campus.
It's a busy weekend for the South Carolina Gamecocks on the recruiting trail, to say the least. Hopefully Beamer and company can get at least a couple commitments or flips out of it.
