A recruiting target for the Gamecocks is closing in on his decision of what college to attend soon. Noah Clark, a four-star defensive tackle from C. E. Jordan High School in Durham, North Carolina, announced this week that he will make his commitment on July 2. Listed as 6-foot-4 and 320 pounds, Clark is ranked No. 271 nationally and No. 27 among defensive lineman in the 2026 recruiting cycle. He also holds the No. 15 spot among a deep group of in-state prospects.
For Shane Beamer and the Gamecocks, Clark is a critical piece in the future plans for the defensive line. There are only two defensive tackles on the Gamecock roster currently holding three or more years of eligibility, freshman Caleb Williams and Christian Ingram. With South Carolina needing long-term depth at the DT position, Clark is a huge target for the Gamecocks.
Clark has shown interest in the Gamecocks throughout his recruitment, and the Gamecocks have had an advantage with early involvement. Defensive line coach Travian Robertson was the first to offer Clark back in 2023, a move the talented lineman has publicly acknowledged as meaningful to him.
On the field, Clark is a true nose tackle, anchoring the middle and is rarely moved in one-on-one matchups. While he is not known as a traditional pass-rusher, Clark still tallied four sacks last season along with an impressive 18.5 tackles for loss and 75 total tackles during his junior year.
This weekend, Clark will make his official visit to South Carolina as part of a busy summer visitation rotation. He has already made visits to Virginia and Duke, with upcoming trips to Virginia Tech and NC State
South Carolina fans will be watching this one close over the next month, waiting to hear Clark's final commitment decision, hoping he will help the Gamecocks shape the defensive front for the 2026 season.
