South Carolina Football: Shane Beamer announces #WelcomeHome for 2026 class

The spring has turned into one of the busiest recruiting times in college football. With the transfer portal wide open, current class recruits (2025) looking to wrap things up soon, and future classes (2026 and beyond) starting to take shape, coaches are talking to high school players even more than their current college roster. The same is true for the South Carolina football program.

USC head coach Shane Beamer typically lets Gamecock fans know whenever his team receives a commitment. He posts on Twitter/X a #WelcomeHome and usually pairs that with a hashtag for the recruiting class. The 2024 class used #24EverToThee, and the Gamecocks have utilized #2and5torm for the '25 cycle.

On Wednesday, the Carolina headman made a #WelcomeHome commitment announcement but did not include a class hashtag because the prospect is in the class of 2026.

Beamer's #WelcomeHome post doesn't seem to provide any other hints as to who the mystery commitment might be.

Whichever player committed silently to Coach Beamer still has two more seasons of high school football left before he becomes a member of the South Carolina football program, but even though that is still a long way out, the commitment is not the first for the program in the class of 2026.

Back in August, 4-star quarterback Landon Duckworth pledged his services to the Gamecocks. As the first commit of the '26 cycle, he was a Gamecock commit before any class of 2025 players entered the fold.

In the 2025 class, South Carolina football has six public commitments and one potential silent commitment who has not revealed himself just yet. Wide receiver Jayden Sellers, wide receiver Brian Rowe, defensive back Damarcus Leach, EDGE Anthony Addison, defensive back Shamari Earls, and defensive lineman Caleb Williams are all Gamecock pledges. Rowe, Addison, Earls, and Williams are considered 4-star prospects by at least one major national recruiting outlet.
