The WNBA All-Star Game is starting to look a lot like a Gamecock line up. Former South Carolina legends A'ja Wilson, Aliyah Boston, and Allisha Gray have all been named starters for the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game, which will take place on July 19 in Indianapolis, per On3's Chris Wellbaum. It is just another banner moment for South Carolina women's basketball, and proof that the pipeline from Columbia to the pros is still elite.
Indiana's Caitlin Clark and Minnesota's Napheesa Collier will serve as captains after topping the fan votes. Boston actually finished third overall in fan voting, and Wilson was right behind her at fourth.
While fan votes made up 50% of the formula, current WNBA players and a panel of media each contributed 25%. Among guards, Gray finished only seventh in voting, but she topped both the media and player ballots. Wilson was the clear top choice among players and media, and Boston's strong fan support pushed her despite a lower media and player ranking.
Wilson, the reigning MVP, will be heading to her seventh All-Star Game. She has participated every season of her career except 2020 when no game was held. Last season, she broke the league's records for points and rebounds and is currently putting up monster numbers again: 21.6 points, 9.9 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 2.6 blocks, and 1.9 steals per game.
Boston. on the other hand, will start in front of her home crowd in Indiana, an incredible full circle moment for the Fever's rising star. And Gray continues her stellar play in Atlanta with the Dream. She earned her second career All-Star selection thanks to the respect from her peers and the press.
Three Gamecocks. Three starters. And one big reminder: South Carolina isn't just a college power house, it's an WNBA factory.
