The Palmetto Bowl is set to kickoff at noon for what could be a big ranked matchup
Both South Carolina and Clemson are having great seasons, which is setting up for a great showdown at the end of the season when both teams face off in their annual rivalry game, otherwise known as the Palmetto Bowl.
It seemed like the Gamecocks season was lost when they were 3-3- after a tough loss to Alabama, but South Carolina has ripped off four wins in a row, three of them being against ranked opponents. Their season has totally turned around with this four-game winning streak, which means this game against Clemson could have some big implications for both teams.
The Palmetto Bowl officially got its game time, and while some were hoping for a nighttime showdown, they are going to get the complete opposite. The Gamecocks will travel for a potential ranked meeting with the Tigers at Noon on November 30th.
This could be the biggest game of LaNorris Sellers and Shane Beamer's young careers
Shane Beamer has played in some big games throughout his career, but as a head coach, this game against Clemson could be his biggest. If South Carolina can win both of their games, it gives them a chance to make the College Football Playoff, not an overwhelming chance, but a chance and that is all the Gamecocks can hope for.
Quarterback LaNorris Sellers has been playing lights out the last three games, earning his two SEC Freshman of the Week awards and an SEC Offensive Player of the Week award. Sellers has thrown for 835 yards and nine touchdowns in the last three games, as well as rushing for 189 yards and one rushing touchdown.
This game could be a pivotal point of the season and the biggest game for both Beamer and Sellers.
The last time South Carolina and Clemson faced off, the Tigers took home the win in Williams-Brice Stadium. The Gamecocks will look to get a little revenge and bring home a win in Memorial Stadium.
