The College Football Playoff committee released their final rankings of the season before the selection show later this week. The most recent rankings sent college football fans into a rage over who got in just under the wire and while they are angry, they also aren't surprised.
South Carolina is not that team. The Gamecocks came in ranked No. 14, which basically means they will not be getting into the College Football Playoff this season. However, what angers people the most is that Alabama was ranked No. 11 meaning they are most likely going to get into the playoff.
While South Carolina did lose to Alabama, everyone believes that the Gamecocks deserved to be in over the Crimson Tide because South Carolina is simply the better team and has the better resume with ranked wins, and their only losses come against ranked teams.
College football fans took to social media to let their feelings out, and they did not hold back.
So, just to get it straight:

A win over a Top 12 Clemson team on the road - which feels like a pretty big piece of a resume, especially this time of year - moved South Carolina up... one spot.
A win over 5-6 Auburn at home moved Alabama up... two spots.
THE RIG IS IN!
The number of people who believe that the playoff is rigged just grew tenfold last night with the latest rankings. It truly doesn't make sense how they chose to to move the teams after this past week of play.
#14 for South Carolina is foul

Short and sweet and totally on point.
Here is the committee‘s explanation 3 weeks ago for ranking South Carolina above LSU with exact same record.

Maybe stop being a soundbox for a corrupt, garbage committee and system.

They say one thing adn then do another; it truly does not make sense. When comparing resumes, South Carolina clearly has a better one than both Ole Miss and Alabama, but the committee won't look at that.
Rece Davis: “So why Alabama over Miami, Ole Miss, and South Carolina”

CFP Commissioner, if he was honest: pic.twitter.com/WtAeq9Yd4Y
I'm just saying that we haven't seen Mr. Krabbs and the College Football Playoff Commissioner in the same room before.
It didn’t matter. It never mattered.

Bama was always getting in over Ole Miss and South Carolina because of the logo on the helmet. There was no rationale there.
Even without Nick Saban as their head coach, Alabama will still get treated like kings, no matter how many games they lose. If the Crimson Tide lost four or five games this season, the committee would have still tried to find a way to get them in the playoffs and it is all because of the logo on their helmet.
What a disservice to the South Carolina Gamecocks. Three ranked wins down the stretch meant nothing in the eyes of the committee.

Not just three ranked wins, but four ranked wins during their six-game win streak. The Gamecocks have the resume that Ole Miss and Alabama don't have, but again, the committee does not care.
I didn’t think the committee could get any worse from last season… I was dead wrong… SMU at 8 is a travesty. South Carolina at 14 is absurd. OSU losing to an awful team FOR THEIR SECOND LOSS and being 6 is criminal.

The committee project has failed. What’s next?
South Carolina is not the only team the committee has insulted with their ranking. However, the others are at least in the playoffs, while South Carolina effectively is not.
