The South Carolina Gamecocks are looking to get their second big win of the season, set to host the No. 11 Tennessee Volunteers on Saturday. The Vols enter this game 6-1, and are coming off of a big upset win over Alabama last week.
But the Gamecocks are coming off of an upset of their own, going on the road two weeks ago and defeating the ranked Florida Gators 38-19.

Weather forecast
Per the National Weather Service, the weather looks perfect for an SEC showdown. The forecast is calling for sunny skies, with a high near 70 degrees. Winds will be blowing from the northeast at nine to 11 miles per hour.
All-time series
These two schools were former SEC East rivals, before the conference did away with divisions in 2024. Tennessee leads the series 27-2-11. The Vols won the last meeting in Knoxville in 2023, winning 41-20.
Injury Report
Both teams are in good shape injury-wise for this one. South Carolina starting center Carter Miller is listed as probable on the game day injury report. Quay'Sheed Scott was listed as doubtful earlier in the week, but he will be out for Saturday's game. Tennessee did not have any new players listed on the report all week, so the Vols enter this one pretty healthy.
Top storylines to watch for
Will Tennessee be able to run the ball?
South Carolina's run defense has been solid all season. That's not the best news for Tennessee, which has relied on DeSean Bishop to win games as of late. If the Gamecock defense forces Tennessee to have to throw the ball, it could be a long day for the Vols.
Who will start at quarterback for Tennessee?
It is expected to be George MacIntyre, who has gotten the nod over the last two weeks. But if MacIntyre doesn't play well, don't be surprised if Vol head coach Josh Heupel switches back to Faizon Brandon, who was the starter for Tennessee at the start of the season.
Can South Carolina keep the momentum going from the Florida win?
Shane Beamer said this week that he is confident his team can. If the Gamecocks can get another win over a ranked opponent at home, it will drastically change the trajectory for the rest of the season. With a win, the Gamecocks would be in a great spot with remaining games against Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Arkansas and Clemson. The toughest task will be playing Georgia at home. But even with a loss there, it's still set to be a great season for Beamer despite an 0-3 start in SEC play.
