The South Carolina Gamecocks are looking to pull off another upset on Saturday, as the Gamecocks are set to host No. 11 Tennessee on Saturday afternoon. Head coach Shane Beamer is looking for his team to get a second Top-25 upset this week, coming off of a huge 38-19 road win over Florida two weeks ago.
In addition to getting another ranked win on the field, Coach Beamer will also be looking to make a big impression on a big-time recruit who will be in attendance. The Gamecocks are hosting 2028 five-star defensive Asher Ghioto on Saturday, according to 247Sports' Steve Wiltfong.

Ghioto is rated as the nation's No. 1 overall EDGE rusher for 2028, playing out of The Bolles School in Jacksonville, Fla. The 247Sports Composite ranks him No. 5 nationally and as the second-ranked player out of Florida.
Across three seasons tracked by MaxPreps, he has accounted for 196 total tackles with 38 sacks, including another 76 tackles for loss.
As expected, South Carolina is not the only school interested in landing Ghito. He holds offers from several big-time schools like Florida, Miami, Alabama, Texas A&M, Georgia, Indiana, LSU, Michigan, Ohio State and several others.
He has visited several SEC schools recently, including Florida on Sept. 5, Georgia on Sept. 25 and was at Miami last weekend during the Canes' thrilling win over Florida State in Week 7. He also visited UCLA in June. Per the 247Sports' Crystal Ball predictions, he is a 100% lock to end up at Miami.
Perhaps in more of a positive sign for the Gamecocks, this will be Ghito's second time on-campus in Columbia. He took an unofficial to South Carolina on June 11.
Saturday's game against the Vols will kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET and air live on ESPN. South Carolina's 2028 class currently has just two commits, in four-star receiver Joseph Gibbs and receiver Jhamari Cain. The class ranks 17th overall in the nation.
If South Carolina pulls off the upset with Ghito on-hand, it could potentially put the Gamecocks in-play for the big-time EDGE rusher.
