Former Mississippi State forward Madina Okot has committed to South Carolina after taking an official visit to Columbia over the weekend. She becomes the second transfer to join the Gamecock roster this offseason, following former Florida State guard Ta'Niya Latson.
Okot is officially the tallest player on the team, standing at 6-foot-6 with an impressive standing reach of 8-foot-8 and a 6-foot-10 wingspan.

Before coming to the United States, Okot played at Zetech University in her home country of Kenya where she also represented the Kenyan National team from 2022 to 2024.
In a single season at Mississippi State, Okot averaged 11.3 points and 9.6 rebounds per game. She finished third on the team in points scored and led the Bulldogs in both rebounds and blocks. She has a 64.9% field goal percentage, topping the SEC. Against South Carolina, Okot scored four points, eight rebounds, and two blocks. Her standout performance was in the win against Vanderbilt, where she scored 21 points and 23 rebounds. Okot totaled 12 double-doubles during the season.
