The SEC will wait to finalize its Week 6 slate of games set for Oct. 10 after seeing the results of how the Week 5 games go. That includes South Carolina's Oct. 10 road trip to take on the No. 8 Florida Gators, the conference has announced.
According to the SEC, the conference is giving a FLEX designation to the game between the Gamecocks and Gators. But that means the game will kickoff at either Noon ET or 12:45 p.m. ET.
Per the conference, the Week 6 game in Gainesville will be aired live on either ABC or SEC Network, depending on how this week's slate of games go.

The move makes sense for a couple of reasons. South Carolina is set to take on the Kentucky Wildcats at home this week, set for 4:15 p.m. E on SEC Network. If the Gamecocks were to lose a third-straight game to the Wildcats, that might not make putting South Carolina in the ABC slot.
Of course, the conference is also eager to see what the Florida Gators do this week, as well. The Gators are coming off of a huge upset victory over the Ole Miss Rebels, winning 52-28. The result vaulted the Gators into the top-10, checking in at No. 8 overall in the country.

But the Gators can't let their leap in the rankings get to them, as head coach Jon Sumrall's team goes on the road this week to play the No. 25 Missouri Tigers. Florida typically struggles playing Missouri in Columbia, as the Gators haven't won there since 2019.
If both South Carolina and Florida lose this week, that might prompt this game to be moved to the Noon slot on SEC Network.
There are also several marquee matchups inside the SEC that the conference will want to highlight. The biggest might be Georgia traveling to play Alabama, which is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC. Texas is taking on Oklahoma in the always-heated Red River Rivalry, which is set for a 3:30 p.m. ET kick, set to air on ABC.
Ole Miss goes on the Vanderbilt for a 3:30 p.m. kick, set to air on ESPN. Tennessee plays at Arkansas, set for the 4:15 p.m. timeslot on SEC Network. Lane Kiffin's LSU Tiger team goes on the road to take on the Kentucky Wildcats at 7 p.m. ET, as well.
The South Carolina-Florida game has some intrigue already. The two programs were former SEC East rivals, but they haven't played since 2023. The Gators have also won five out of the last six meetings, with South Carolina's last victory coming during the 40-17 in 2021, during Shane Beamer's first season in Columbia.
