The South Carolina Gamecocks are searching for their first SEC win since last season. To do just that, head coach Shane Beamer's team will look to go on the road and upset the No. 16 Florida Gators on Saturday. This should be a fun rematch of a former SEC East rivalry, one that the Gators hold a 31-3-10 all-time series lead in. It's also the first meeting between these two since 2023.

The Gamecocks haven't won in Gainesville since 2014, but the Gators are coming off of their first loss of the season to Missouri last Saturday. South Carolina, meanwhile, is coming off of a heartbreaking 35-34 overtime loss to Kentucky, as the Gamecocks dropped to 0-3 in SEC play.

With kickoff less than 24 hours away, here's a look at the final odds and a prediction for Saturday's game.

Prediction:  Florida 27, South Carolina 13

The weather forecast for Gainesville on Saturday looks like it will be nasty, with the National Weather Service calling for an 80% chance of rain, with a chance for thunderstorms as well. Hopefully the game can be played without any delays.

That's why I think this one will be lower scoring than the estimated total of 58.5. Florida has played lights out all season long at home. And unfortunately for South Carolina, I think the Gators will be looking to take out a lot of frustration from last week's loss on the Gamecocks.

While I do think LaNorris Sellers and this South Carolina offense will be able to move the ball against a suspect Florida secondary, I think this Florida run game will come alive once again against a Gamecock defensive line that's dealing with injuries to Julian Walker and Gabriel Brownlow-Dindy. If it really is wet and rainy like the forecast is predicting, that makes Florida relying on its ground game even more likely.

If South Carolina wants to upset Florida, making the Gators one-dimensional on offense will be key. But in the last two weeks, the Gamecocks have given up over 100 yards rushing on the ground against Alabama and Kentucky.

Had this game been in Columbia, I think South Carolina would have a chance at an upset. But this Florida team, I think, is just too good. The Gators also play much better at home in general.

Kickoff for Saturday's game will kickoff at 12:45 p.m. ET, and air live on SEC Network.
