The South Carolina Gamecocks are set to take on the Alabama Crimson Tide on the road. During Saturday morning's broadcast of ESPN's "College GameDay," which was live in Knoxville, Tenn. ahead of No. 1 Texas-No. 14 Tennessee.
The crew of Desmond Howard, Pat McAfee, Nick Saban, Kirk Herbstreit and guest picker Johnny Knoxville made their respective picks for several of Saturday's game, including the Gamecocks and Tide.
Here's how the picks shook out for each.
"College GameDay" crew likes the Crimson Tide
As expected, the entire crew picked South Carolina to fall against Alabama. Howard started things off by saying he thinks head coach Shane Beamer is in for a long season in Columbia before picking the Tide. He added that he thinks Beamer is a wonderful coach, but added that Keelon Russell has been too impressive.
Saban said he thinks Alabama should have a great year and picked the Tide. McAfee added that Alabama has been particularly impressive in the second half of games, and was impressed with how well Russell has played in the second half. Knoxville, the guest picker, said that with Alabama's 88 wins at home, he didn't know "how game these cocks are going to be" before picking Alabama.
Herbstreit also picked Alabama, adding that South Carolina gave up nine explosive plays against Mississippi State last week.

Of course, the crew picking the Tide isn't all too surprising. Alabama is a two-score favorite, and the Gamecocks collapsed at home against MSU and Kamario Taylor.
Had last week's game gone differently, there likely would have been some panelists who picked South Carolina. Rece Davis added that in each of the last two meetings between the two, the Gamecocks have kept it one-score games.
The Gamecocks will kick off at 7 p.m. ET, and the game will air live on ESPN. The Gamecocks have gone 0-2 in the last two seasons against Alabama. South Carolina's last victory over the Tide on the road came came in 2004.
