The South Carolina Gamecocks, Shane Beamer and his staff are gearing for a busy summer on the recruiting trail. Over the next few weeks, South Carolina is set to host a number of highly-touted recruits before the dead recruiting period begins in late June.Â
One of those recruits is 4-star EDGE rusher Success Nwabude, who is a recruit the Gamecocks would love to end up with. Nwabube, out of Athens Christian in Georgia, is rated by 247Sports as the No. 26 overall EDGE rusher from the class of 2027, and the No. 34 ranked prospect out of the state of Georgia. South Carolina locked in an official visit for Nwabube, scheduled for June 5. On his 247 page, his interest in the Gamecocks is listed as "warm," along with Georgia Tech, Georgia and Missouri.Â
Unsurprisingly, he will visit the other three schools on that list over the next couple of weeks, as well. His visit to Georgia Tech is set for this upcoming weekend on May 29, and he will visit Georgia on June 12 and Missouri the weekend after.Â
Nwabube holds offers from a number of big-time schools, including Arkansas, Florida State, Kentucky Maryland, Tennessee, Vanderbilt and Virginia Tech. Florida just offered him earlier this month, as well.Â
He is a versatile athlete, playing both on the offensive and defensive line. In five games last season, he accounted for 14 solo tackles and a fumble recovery per MaxPreps.Â
South Carolina does not have an EDGE rusher in its 2027 class, so Nwabube would fill a big need for the Gamecocks.Â
We'll see if he comes away from his visit impressed enough to make commitment plans.
