The South Carolina Gamecocks are busy on the recruiting trail, building the blocks for both its 2027 and 2028 classes. One hugely important position for the future is under center at quarterback, as returning starter LaNorris Sellers is expected to go pro following the 2026 season.

South Carolina has begun preparing for just that, as it extended an offer to a 2028 quarterback that has a name Gamecock fans will recognize. Graham Simpson, the brother of Los Angeles Rams first-round NFL Draft pick Ty Simpson, was offered by South Carolina.

Graham plays where his older brother played high school football, Westview High School in Martin, Tn. The Simpson family resides in Tennessee where Ty and Graham's father, Jason Martin, is the head coach at UT-Martin.

The younger Simpson is one of eight quarterbacks South Carolina has offered from the class of 2028. He also holds offers from his older brother's alma mater, Alabama, as well as big-name schools in Auburn, Florida State, Indiana, Miami, Ohio State Oregon, and Texas, to name a few. South Carolina does not yet have a commitment in its 2028 class currently.

Per MaxPreps, Simpson has thrown for 4,843 yards with 67 touchdowns and just three interceptions over his last two seasons. He rushed for 114 yards and a score last season, as well.

Per the 247Sports Composite, Martin is rated as the No. 15 overall quarterback for 2028, and the No. 13 ranked prospect out of his home state of Alabama.

As a true freshman in 2024, he led Westview to a 14-1 record and a berth in the Tennessee 3A state title game. He was named the MaxPreps Freshman of the Year.

It's obviously early in his recruiting process, but the Martin family being around football clearly won't stop with Ty, who is now with the Los Angeles Rams.
