South Carolina football's new Nike home and away jersey combinations revealed

The South Carolina Gamecocks had a significant athletics change earlier this month. After nearly two decades of being outfitted by Under Armour for all apparel, the Gamecocks made the official switch to Nike on July 1. 

The change is the start of a new era for South Carolina athletics, as Nike will not only provide the uniforms for every athletic team, but fans can also purchase Nike officially licensed South Carolina gear. On Thursday evening South Carolina football officially unveiled the uniform combinations for the Gamecocks' home and away games. For the home games, South Carolina is committed to the traditional garnet pants with matching garnet tops, complete with the white helmets. Road games will have the white tops and white bottoms with the garnet helmet: 

South Carolina's social media team also put together a hype video celebrating the upcoming change with the Gamecocks' new threads: 

When the Gamecocks open the season at home on Sept. 5 against Kent State, South Carolina will be expected to wear the garnet uniforms. Obviously, the biggest thing that stands out is how similar the uniforms are to the previous Under Armour ones. South Carolina athletic director Jeremiah Donati spoke in interviews about not inputting too many drastic changes with the new uniforms. 

 “Our brand identity is so strong that we didn’t want to bastardize that and just completely throw everything on its head,” Donati told Gamecock Central''s Wes Mitchell over the summer. “The changes you’ll see will be subtle, but there will be changes. That’s one thing Nike does really well, is you get a chance to kind of really mix it up. In future years, I think there’s going to be a willingness to maybe do something a little more extreme from uniform to uniform.”

Although South Carolina just unveiled the two main jersey combos with the videos, there's a good chance the program will try some other things as the football season progresses. 

"That’s one thing Nike does really well, is you get a chance to kind of really mix it up,” Donati added. “But we didn’t feel like that was appropriate to completely change our look and our identity Day 1."

The one big question is whether or not the Gamecocks will have an all-black uniform for the 2026 season, which South Carolina has worn consistently throughout the years. While it wouldn't be too surprising to see the all-black jersey revealed at some point, for now, South Carolina just chose to reveal the two main combos. 

Previously, South Carolina was outfitted as an Under Armour school dating back to 2007, and the school's deal with them was set to expire June 30 and was not renewed. In comparison, South Carolina is expected to bring in a lot more money with the new Nike deal: 

The Gamecocks were one of the last SEC schools to be paired with Under Armour, as Auburn switched to Nike in July 2025.
