College football is all about finding an edge that other programs don't have. Shane Beamer and the South Carolina Gamecocks are hoping that they have found just that with the newest staff addition hire.Â
On Tuesday, the Gamecocks officially hired Marius Aleksa as the football team's Director of Process Development. The hire was first reported by Gamecock Central's Wes Mitchell.Â
According to Aleksa's Gamecock bio, Aleksa spent the last three years with the Miami Marlins from 2023-2025, and was previously with the United States Army Special Welfare Center and school from 2021-2023.Â
According to Aleksa's LinkedIn page, he has been a process coach for the Performance Advisory Group since Nov. 2025.Â
"The Performance Advisory Group is a premier consulting firm specializing in leadership and coaching development for head coaches, athletes, and executives across professional sports," the description under the position reads. "We help high-performers lead with clarity, communicate with impact, and perform under pressure.
Trusted by champions in the NFL, MLB, NBA, PGA, LPGA, ATP, and Division I athletics, our advisors blend behavioral science with practical, game-ready tools to enhance decision-making, culture-building, and leadership growth at the highest level."

It sounds like Aleksa will specialize in prioritizing South Carolina football player's mental health, which is a great thing. Recently, Oregon quarterback Dante Moore made headlines for opening up about his struggles with his own mental health, and said that the resources he had on-campus helped tremendously. Â
