It's been a good week so far for South Carolina fans. The Gamecocks notched a second upset victory over the No. 11 Tennessee Volunteers on Saturday, winning 27-24 in a thrilling game.

Just hours after the victory, South Carolina head coach Shane Beamer pulled off a big flip on the recruiting trail. South Carolina successfully flipped four-star defensive lineman Nate Kamba from Auburn on Sunday:

Kamba, a 2027 prospect from Charlotte, N.C., is rated per the 247Sports Composite as the No. 30 overall defensive lineman in his class. He is rated as the No. 10 overall prospect from his home state of North Carolina, which has proven to be a great recruiting pipeline for the Gamecocks in recent years.

He is being recruited by South Carolina defensive line coach Travian Robertson, as well as defensive ends coach Sterling Lucas. Kamba took an official visit to Columbia in early June.

"(Robertson's) a real guy, great dude. A family man," Kamba said of Coach Robertson via Gamecock247 in June "Like the fact that everybody in that staff can tell you, 'That's a good dude. We love him.' His kids love him, his wife loves him, the players love him, everything like that.

And the fact that some players that will go to another school, and be like, 'Hey, you're right, this was the one for me.' They come back and just tell how good of a guy he is. "We went on the boat with them. We ate together, with each other today, stuff like that. He is a great, wonderful guy. He'll take good care of you and make sure I'm straight."

South Carolina was one of the very first schools to offer Kamba, extending one to the defensive lineman in January of 2025. It was his second offer, right behind Ohio State, which was the first. Koba took official visits over the summer to NC State as well as Auburn. He had been committed to Tigers head coach Alex Golesh since mid-June.

Across three seasons tracked by MaxPreps, Kamba has racked up 128 total tackles with 14 sacks and 50 tackles for loss.

Kamba's commitment brings South Carolina's 2027 class to 18 verbal commitments. He joins blue-chip North Carolina prospects such as cornerback Joshua Dobson, safety Davion Jones, defensive lineman John Archer and three-star EDGE rusher Jayden Broadie.

Congrats to Kamba on the commitment to South Carolina, and welcome home to Columbia!
