The South Carolina Gamecocks are rolling on the recruiting trail, folks. Head coach Dawn Staley landed her third five-star of the Gamecocks' 2027 recruiting class, as five-star Jordyn Palmer committed to South Carolina.
Palmer, who is rated as the No. 1 overall player from her home state of Pennsylvania, committed to the Gamecocks over her final schools in Ohio State, UCLA, and Penn State.

Palmer took an official visit to South Carolina on Sept. 18. With her commitment, Coach Staley is now three-for-three on prospects that visited that weekend. Five-stars Jezelle "GG" Banks and Taylor Brown, who were with Palmer on that visit weekend, have also both committed to the Gamecocks.
She is rated as the No. 6 overall player in the 2027 class per the 247Sports Composite, and checks in as the No. 2 overall small forward. Playing out of Westtown School in Oxford, Penn., she is a two-time Gatorade Player of the Year, given annually to the best high school player in the country.
Here's what Palmer will bring to South Carolina, via her scouting report on 247Sports
Palmer was a member of the USA Basketball 17-and-Under team that won a gold medal at the FIBA World Cup. Her unique blend of size, skill, and patience on the basketball court is a recipe for success. She helped Philly Rise win the 16-and-Under division at the USA Basketball Open Championships to end July in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Palmer then made waves at the MADE Hoops Next Generation Camp the following week. As a result, she has established herself as one of the premier prospects in the country.
“Definitely my jump shot,” Palmer told On3Sports of what makes her game so great. “My ability to pull up. I can do that now, but everybody knows me as going to the basket and being strong down low. So it’s just elevating my game to a different level outside.”
According to Gamecock Central, Palmer averaged 23.2 points per game with 13.2 rebounds, 6.4 assists, 3.3 steals and 2.5 blocks per contest during this past season.
This is a great momentum-building commitment for Staley's program, which is set to take on No. 20 Maryland in Paris on Nov. 2 to open the 2026-27 season.
Congrats to Palmer on the commitment, and welcome home to the Gamecocks!
