Rivalry Week certainly did not disappoint this year, as many top teams fell to their rival on their home field no less. There were four teams that planted their flag on their rival's field after winning, resulting in three brawls, one of which got so out of hand that players and coaches ended up being pepper-sprayed by campus police. We are looking at you, Ohio State-Michigan.
It will be interesting to see what the NCAA chooses to do after all these brawls, as some of them could affect players playing in bowl games and others could affect teams playing in the College Football Playoff.
When it came to the Palmetto Bowl, South Carolina didn't do something childish like planting their flag on the Tiger paw in the middle of the field at Memorial Stadium. Why do such a childish thing?
Instead, they took Sir Big Spur out to the middle of the field, let him do his business on the Tiger paw, and then just walked away.
This is next-level trolling by South Carolina, and no one will probably see it because it happened after everyone left the field, but Gamecock fans will love it. The best thing about it is that there probably won't be any sort of fine or suspension, it is just clean, well I guess you could say dirty in this case, fun.
South Carolina took down the Clemson Tigers in the annual Palmetto Bowl, keeping their College Football Playoff hopes alive, and now wait for the chaos of championship week to see how their fate lies. It seems like Clemson's chances were dashed, but with Syracuse upsetting Miami, the Tigers find themselves in the ACC Championship game after the loss.
South Carolina will get their new ranking this week on Tuesday, their final ranking until the official College Football Playoff reveal show on Sunday, December 8th.
