Recently, South Carolina head football coach Shane Beamer had a day to remember! Earlier this week, Beamer made a surprise visit to the SEC Championship round of the South Carolina Men's Golf Team, where his presence caught some attention. On the golf team's official X (formerly known as Twitter) account, they had a little fun with Beamer showing up at the tournament.
Anybody know this guy??? π

But there was a lot more to the big smile on Beamer's face in the photo, as he reposted the pictures, poking fun back and dropped a big hint about what had just gone down!
Appreciate the opportunity to be with you today @GamecockMGolf -Loved watching you compete in the @SEC Championship

1. The first pic is the best one you had?? π π€¦π»ββοΈ
2. The 2nd pic is right after I got a GREAT phone call from @_iamgeorgejr !!!! Hope I didnβt make too muchβ¦ https://t.co/MqgWgbGL5Q
That "great phone call" was from former four-star George Wilson Jr. telling Beamer that he is coming home!
Wilson, who originally committed to South Carolina in the 2021 recruiting cycle but flipped to Florida State, then ended up at Campbell, is now ready to suit up in garnet and black. He confirmed the news by reposting Beamer's reaction, making it official.
In the past two seasons, Wilson amassed 34 tackles and seven sacks. His decision to come to South Carolina will give the Gamecocks some serious depth at EDGE. Wilson has one year of eligibility left, and if Beamer's reaction is any indication of what's to come for the 2025-26 season, Gamecock Nation has every reason to be fired up.
