EDGE rusher George Wilson will finally suit up as a Gamecock this season. After originally committing to South Carolina back in 2020, Wilson will transfer from Campbell to fill a key need for Shane Beamer's squad.

Gamecock fans will recall that Wilson surprisingly committed to South Carolina in the summer of 202 where he was a standout at Green Run High School in Virginia Beach, VA. He chose South Carolina over North Carolina, Arizona State, and Penn State. However, he decommitted after then head coach Will Muschamp and ultimately signed with Florida State.

Wilson started his collegiate career at Florida State, redshirting in 2021 and appearing in three games in 2022 before transferring to Campbell. In his first season at Campbell in 2023, he played all 11 games, starting four and racking up 21 sacks, 5.5 for a loss. This past season, Wilson appeared in 12 games with seven starts, made 18 tackles, six for a loss, and five sacks.
