The South Carolina Gamecocks dropped the ball on a great opportunity for an upset against No. 12 Ole Miss this past Saturday. The Gamecocks struggled throughout the entire game, never really getting the right momentum on their side, and ending up dropping the game 27-3.

South Carolina has every right to be upset and pissed off about the loss to Ole Miss. The Gamecocks had everything on their side: their playmakers back, the home crowd on their side, and Ole Miss coming off a loss. Instead, the team came in and put up an abysmal performance riddled with mistakes and undisciplined play and had more penalties than one of the most penalized teams in college football.

However, even though South Carolina is probably heading into Week 7 pretty angry about the outcome of their game against Ole Miss, they are going to be facing a much angrier opponent in Week 7.

Alabama had just come off one of the biggest wins in one of the biggest games in college football history. The Crimson Tide were riding high and felt as though Kalen DeBoer was going to be all right taking over this program from Nick Saban.

Enter Vanderbilt.

In the Nick Saban era, Vanderbilt has only scored 13 points against Alabama, hence why Saban said that Vandy was the easiest team in the SEC to face on ESPN College Gameday in Week 6. In the Kalen DeBoer era, Vandy has already scored 40 points on the Crimson Tide and lost to them for the first time in 40 years.

It was not Alabama's best game, including one of their two-time captains throwing a fit at the end of the game because his team lost. Alabama defensive back Malachi Moore, at one point, was seen shoving Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia's helmet into the ground after a play. Then, at the end of the game, while time was still ticking off the clock, Morre was flagged for throwing his mouthpiece across the field before the snap, and then after the snap, he walked over to where the officials were standing and right in front of them, kicked the ball down the field.

Moore released an apology on social media two days after the game, but some say it felt forced and like he was made to do so. Even with all of that, this just shows how angry Alabama is to have lost that game against Vanderbilt, and the team that they have to play next is South Carolina.

The Gamecocks are going to get a very angry Alabama team this week that is going to want to come out and prove to the country that they are not the team that played against Vanderbilt.

Shan Beamer's squad can't look like the team that played against Ole Miss if they want to try and catch Alabama on its heels. The Gamecocks need to be ready for the fury of Alabama this week, as they just might spit fire at the Gamecocks.
