Former South Carolina football star named positional MVP at Senior Bowl

Former South Carolina football running back MarShawn Lloyd left the Gamecock program to transfer to the "other USC" after the 2022 season. The move worked out for Lloyd as he made multiple publications' All-Pac 12 teams for the Trojans and had a big year out in Los Angeles.
He was invited to the 2024 Senior Bowl where he competed alongside former South Carolina football teammates Spencer Rattler and Xavier Legette. Like his garnet and black teammates, Lloyd had a really good week of practice.
On Friday, according to Senior Bowl Director Jim Nagy, MarShawn Lloyd was named the running back MVP of the National Team by his defensive teammates at the Senior Bowl. The guys who had to try to stop Lloyd at practice viewed him as the best ball-carrier at the college all-star showcase. He joins Spencer Rattler as a positional MVP in Mobile as his former quarterback was named the QB MVP by his American Team defensive teammates.
Surely, the strong showing will help Lloyd's NFL Draft future, but with the position he plays, determining what his draft stock truly should be is a difficult endeavor. Running backs are not valued like they used to be (outside of the exceptions like Christian McCaffrey), so they are not valued in the draft as high as they used to be.
Most draft projections for Lloyd have him being selected anywhere from the 3rd to 5th round of April's NFL Draft.
Lloyd was a 5-star prospect coming out of high school in 2020 (dropped to a 4-star by some recruiting outlets), and he battled his health for much of his collegiate career. If he is taken in the mid-rounds of the draft this year, he will be able to cash in for a nice payday despite the torn ACL and other ailments he suffered playing at the two USCs.
The Reese's Senior Bowl will be played on Saturday at 1:00 and will be broadcast on the NFL Network.
