South Carolina football fans learned the 2024 schedule for their favorite team before the 2023 season ever began. Then, during the winter, they learned the dates of those games. Earlier this week, the kickoff time and television/streaming information for the first SEC game (week 2 against the Kentucky Wildcats) also was revealed.
On Thursday afternoon, broadcast and game time news broke across the Southeastern Conference regarding the first three games on each team's schedule, including the South Carolina Gamecocks.
The season opener for Shane Beamer's team against the Old Dominion Monarchs (August 31st) has been set for 4:15 PM ET at Williams-Brice Stadium. The home contest will be broadcast on the SEC Network and will be streamed on the ESPN app.
Though the information was known already, the announcement also included the details behind Carolina's first SEC contest. The Gamecocks will be in Lexington, Kentucky to face the Kentucky Wildcats (September 7th) for a 3:30 PM ET kickoff. The game will be on ABC and available for streaming on the ESPN app.
Carolina's third contest, a home game against the LSU Tigers (September 14th) will kick off at Noon ET the following Saturday. Like is the case in week two, the Gamecocks and Tigers will be broadcast on ABC and will be streamed on the ESPN app.
After those three games, South Carolina will play the Akron Zips, Ole Miss Rebels, Alabama Crimson Tide, Oklahoma Sooners, Texas A&M Aggies, Vanderbilt Commodores, Missouri Tigers, Wofford Terriers, and Clemson Tigers.
The game time, television, and streaming information for those remaining nine games on the South Carolina football schedule will be revealed at a later date. According to a social media post from the official Gamecock Football account, June 11th will be an important date in learning when some of those games will be.
