Like always, the South Carolina football schedule is difficult in 2024. However, compared to some seasons (like last year), the Gamecocks do not play the country's most difficult slate of games.

With the South Eastern Conference's addition of the Texas Longhorns and Oklahoma Sooners this fall, the league adopted a custom schedule for 2024 (and the SEC flipped the schedule for 2025, having every team play the same schedule as in '24, just with venues reversed. That schedule was released last fall, but game times and television information were not yet decided.

That is, game times and television information wasn't available until today.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, news around the league started to break regarding teams' early-season games and how fans can watch them. On Wednesday, it was announced that South Carolina football's SEC opener against the Kentucky Wildcats has its official kickoff time and broadcast station.

As one of the most important games of the season for the Gamecocks, it is only fitting that USC-UK will be played at 3:30 PM EST on ABC. The game also will be available for streaming on the ESPN app. The week before traveling to Lexington, Carolina plays the Old Dominion Monarchs at Williams-Brice Stadium, but kick time and television info are not available yet for the opener or the other ten games on the Gamecocks' 2024 schedule.

The game will be Kentucky's first SEC contest, as well, as the Wildcats open their year by hosting the Southern Miss Golden Eagles at Kroger Field the week before.

South Carolina has beaten Kentucky two years in a row, and a win this year would be the Gamecocks' first three-game win streak over the 'Cats since 2011-2013. In both wins in 2022 and 2023, Shane Beamer's team held Mark Stoops' squad to just 14 points
