South Carolina football fans were called off of the no-recruiting-news ledge last week thanks to a big week for the future of the Gamecock program.

Four commitments rolled in for Carolina as 4-star wide receiver Brian Rowe, 3-star safety Damarcus Leach, and 4-star EDGE Anthony Addison all made pledges to the South Carolina football program in the last seven days. The fourth has not yet revealed himself, but several prospects could be considered on "commitment watch."

Right around the same time that Beamer announced the fourth #WelcomeHome, one of these players also announced that he would be making his college decision known soon.

According to a report from 247Sports' Brian Dohn, Virginia prospect Kendall Daniels, Jr. will be announcing his commitment on Sunday. Inside Dohn's report, it was also revealed that Daniels was down to just 4 schools as the South Carolina Gamecocks, Penn State Nittany Lions, Duke Blue Devils, and Virginia Tech Hokies are in the final group vying for his commitment.

Daniels, a 4-star safety from Norfolk, Virginia, is a big-time player in the class of 2025 who was a high school teammate of current South Carolina football freshman Fred "JayR" Johnson.

At 6'3", he is a long and rangy zone coverage player, but he is a good enough athlete to make stick with receivers in man coverage, as well. He has good instincts when the ball is in the air, as well, showing a knack for knowing when to go for the big hit, when to try to knock the ball away, and when to try for the interception.

Daniels is also a very willing tackler, and big hits certainly are a part of his game in run support. Daniels comes downhill with bad intentions for ball carriers, but he is not the type of big hitter who cheats up and then gets beat deep. On the contrary, he has shown on film to be a smart player who can diagnose plays well from the back end of the defense.
