Former South Carolina football running back Rashad Amos left the program after the 2022 season, much to the chagrin of some Gamecock fans.

Amos is a talented back who was a bit buried on the depth chart early in his career but seemed poised for a breakout season in 2023. However, despite MarShawn Lloyd also leaving and opening up plenty of playing time, Amos transferred, too.

As things turned out, Amos did have a big year last season, it just wasn't with USC. Amos transferred to MAC school Miami (OH) and was one of the top running backs in the conference in both yards and touchdowns.

After the year, he entered the transfer portal with a plan of playing for a big-time program again. He took his time and didn't announce a commitment until the spring transfer window when he pledged his services to the Mississippi State Bulldogs.

Amos then decommitted from the Gamecocks' SEC rival to commit to Coach Prime Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes. However, on Saturday, news broke that things were changing for Amos once again.

According to a report from On3's Hayes Fawcett, Amos flipped again, this time pledging to another SEC team. Instead of playing for the Mississippi State Bulldogs or Colorado Buffaloes, Amos will spend the 2024 season with the Ole Miss Rebels (unless he flips again).

Transfer portal flips are somewhat rare but far from unheard of in this day and age of college football. However, one player flipping multiple times in about a month is significantly less common.

Amos will join one of the most talented transfer classes in the country for head coach Lane Kiffin and the Rebels. He also will return to Columbia alongside fellow Gamecock transfer Juice Wells for an October 5th showdown in Williams-Brice Stadium.

Amos was one of the best running backs in the transfer portal this offseason.
