When South Carolina football hosts the #16 LSU Tigers on Saturday in front of a sold-out Williams-Brice Stadium, College GameDay will be in Columbia for the first time in a decade.

Typically, ESPN brings on a "celebrity guest picker" each week who joins the panel of college football analysts for part of the show and makes picks for which teams will win and which teams will lose. The picker usually has some connection to the host school, but back in 2014, Kenny Chesney, a lifelong Tennessee Volunteers fan, was the guest picker when the Gamecocks hosted GameDay. South Carolina football fans weren't particularly happy with the selection, but a Wednesday rumor about this weekend's choice would make the fanbase much happier if it proves to be true.

Matrick Belton, known more now for his stage name "Trick Williams," is a former Gamecock wide receiver who now is a professional wrestler with WWE. Supposedly, the wrestling entertainment company pulled Williams from some weekend obligations, leading many to speculate that he was headed to Columbia to join College GameDay. When Williams noticed South Carolina football fans discussing his suddenly free weekend, he responded with the "eyeball emoji," one that is used universally to mean that the user is drawing attention to something behind the scenes that he/she knows.

At the time of this writing, nothing has been confirmed publicly by Williams or by ESPN.

Other names floated around for the celebrity guest picker selection have included South Carolina basketball coach Dawn Staley, musician Darius Rucker, Olympic gold medalist Quincy Hall, former South Carolina football coaches Steve Spurrier and Lou Holtz, a long list of former Gamecock players, Basketball Hall of Famer Alex English, local politicians, and even the Cornbread Cowboi.

News likely will be coming soon regarding the official decision.
