South Carolina football fans who have been counting down the days already know this, but there are 100 days remaining before the Gamecocks kick off their season with a home game against the Old Dominion Monarchs in Williams-Brice Stadium.

Carolina has received a wide array of projections regarding how well they will fare on the field this fall. Some prognosticators have picked USC to finish 4-8 in 2024, while others believe the Gamecocks can go 8-4. Naturally, all sorts of predictions between those two marks have come in regarding Shane Beamer's team, as well.

With such a wide range of outcomes seemingly realistic for year 4 of the Beamer era in Columbia, fans are hopeful for a step forward that at least includes a bowl game berth and legitimately competing in most games.

The Gamecocks lost a lot of production from last year's team as four Gamecocks were drafted and a number of other contributors graduated or hit the transfer portal. The coaching staff also has undergone some significant changes within its ranks of assistant coaches.

With all of that turnover around the South Carolina football program, there is a long list of Gamecocks who must step up to ensure that a repeat of 2023 doesn't happen again and, instead, push the momentum of program growth or regression firmly toward growth.

But which Gamecocks will be the ones counted upon the most heading into 2024?
