South Carolina is currently down 24 to No. 12 Ole Miss, but there is something that Gamecock fans can cheer for, and that is the fact that the former South Carolina wide receiver made a big mistake.

On second down, Ole Miss was driving, and quarterback Jaxson Dart hit new Rebels wide receiver Juice Wells on a slant pass, and Wells was off to the races. USC fans got really quiet in the stadium, but the North Carolina secondary was not about to let Wells get the glory of a long touchdown against them.

Wells was just yards away from the touchdown, and he attended to change the ball to his inside hand and stretch the ball over the plane for a touchdown, but instead, the ball was knocked away by a Gamecock defender, forcing the ball into the endzone and then out the sideline.

Well, the rules state if the ball is fumbled out of the endzone, it is a touchback and given to the other team. The South Carolina crowd went absolutely nuts over the fact that it was Wells, their former wide receiver, who fumbled to the ball.

Fans also took to social media to troll the former wide receiver, and some of the tweets are pretty clever.

There are not enough crying laughing face emojis in the world that could convey how happy this South Carolina fan is about Wells fumbling the ball for a touchback.

Well, when you are down by 21, sometimes you just have to find the light in all the darkness, and this gave fans a lot to cheer for. Fanbases never forget, and South Carolina certainly never forgets.

Maybe if he had stayed a Gamecock, he wouldn't have a fumble out of the endzone right now.

The fans have asked, now it is time to see if the "Football Gods" will answer.

Juice Wells was ready to troll the student section behind the end zone he had just run to. Instead, he was the one being trolled and booed at all because he tried to do too much.

Ahh, I see what you did there. Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin was livid on the sideline, which in turn made South Carolina fans even more happy.

The Gamecocks still trail the Rebels by 24 with a couple of minutes left in the third quarter. The game isn't over yet, but the deficit is getting more daunting with each second that ticks off the clock.
