ESPN doesn't know the difference between South Carolina basketball and Southern Cal

Scott's move was huge for the program as Lamont Paris and his staff attempt to lock down the Palmetto State and keep the best talent from heading out of state. Scott, as one of the highest-rated 4-star prospects in the country, is the type of player who can make a big impact immediately upon arriving at the University of South Carolina.
However, one national outlet is having trouble keeping straight which USC Cam Scott committed to less than a week ago.
On ESPN's official class of 2024 basketball recruiting page, Cam Scott is listed as a Southern Cal Trojans commitment. Ever since Scott's announcement, ESPN has had the 6'5" guard listed as a Southern Cal pledge, and now, four days later, no one at the "worldwide leader" has noticed and/or cared enough to edit the mistake.
Fans who follow recruiting (in basketball or in football) have noticed that ESPN's recruiting work (and the effort they have put into recruiting) has been on a downward trajectory for a while, but it is ridiculous that a big mistake is still up on their site despite many pointing it out over the past couple of days. The mistake affects ESPN's recruiting class rankings, as well.
This isn't the first time ESPN has made a pretty glaring USC-related mistake. South Carolina basketball fans likely remember that a collaborative effort from ESPN and the NCAA didn't even know the name of the Gamecocks' university before the women's Elite Eight as a promotional graphic read "South Carolina University" instead of the University of South Carolina. There have also been several instances in which ESPN has used the South Carolina State Bulldogs logo in place of the South Carolina Gamecock block C.
What matters, though, is that one of the country's top wings committed to Lamont Paris and the South Carolina basketball program, and he will be on the floor with the Gamecocks next season.
