South Carolina basketball fans have known for a long time that A'ja Wilson would become the greatest player on the planet (and maybe ever), and the rest of the basketball world is finally starting to recognize that fact.

Even after being the best player in the country as a high school recruit, an NCAA National Player of the Year, an NCAA National Champion, and the 1st overall pick in the WNBA Draft, Wilson has stepped her game up as a professional. She now is a 2-time MVP, a 2-time champion, and she has her Las Vegas Aces squad positioned as the early favorites to win another title.

Still, what Wilson has done to start the 2024 season is something she has never done before. In fact, no one has ever accomplished what A'ja Wilson has to begin the season.

Through the Aces' first four games, Wilson has become the first player in the history of the WNBA to log at least 100 points and 50 rebounds so quickly (she has 102 points and 51 rebounds and is also averaging 2.5 assists, 1.25 steals, and 2.25 blocks while shooting 50% from the field). She also has put up four 20-point double-doubles to begin the season.

It's no wonder Wilson finally got her own signature shoe announced earlier this spring (the A'One shoe from Nike will be released sometime in 2025).

The remarkable statistical feat has helped the Aces jump out to a 3-1 start to the season as they look to defend their back-to-back titles with a third championship this year.

The season will take a break later this summer as the Summer Olympics start, and Wilson is expected to participate in bringing another gold medal home for the United States. If she continues playing like this, there is little doubt A'ja Wilson will win championships both for her home country and her professional franchise this year.
