South Carolina Baseball: Gametime, TV/streaming information for NCAA Tournament
By Kevin Miller
On Monday, it was announced that the South Carolina baseball team would be the 2-seed in the Raleigh Regional.
Hosted by the NC State Wolfpack (1-seed), the Raleigh Regional will also have the James Madison Dukes (3-seed) and Bryant Bulldogs (4-seed) vying for a spot in the Super Regional round of the NCAA Tournament. The Athens Regional (Georgia Bulldogs, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, UNC-Wilmington Seahawks, and Army Black Knights) is paired with the Raleigh Regional, so the winners of each group of 4 will face off in the next round of the tournament.
In the initial release of the Road to Omaha bracket, television and streaming information was not known. However, it didn't take long before that information surfaced.
On Friday, South Carolina baseball will take the field in Raleigh for the first time, matching up with the 3-seed James Madison Dukes. The game will begin at 2:00 PM ET and will be streamed on ESPN+. First pitch for the game between NC State and Bryant will begin at 7:00 PM ET and also will be streamed on ESPN+. The TV/streaming information for the remaining games has not been announced but will be available somewhere on the ESPN family of networks.
The losers of those two games will face off on Saturday at Noon ET in game 3, while the winners are set to play at 6:00 PM ET in game 4. The winner of game 4 will get a break while the loser of game 3 is eliminated. The remaining two teams will play on Sunday at Noon ET in game 5. The winner of that game will get a chance to face whichever team remains undefeated in game 6. A winner-take-all game 7 will be played if the team that emerged from the losers' bracket defeats the undefeated group in game 6.
The Gamecocks faced off with the NC State Wolfpack in last year's Regional, but that one was hosted at Founders Park in Columbia. Carolina won the 2023 Regional and will hope to repeat the feat in 2024.
