South Carolina and Ole Miss do not face off very often, as they have only met 16 times in program history. The matchup today is the first one since 2020 when Ole Miss pulled off the win in a high-scoring affair.

Today marks the first time in 15 years that the Rebels will take the trip to Columbia, South Carolina. The last time they played in Williams-Brice Stadium, the Rebels were ranked No. 4 and left with their first loss of the season, and Gamecock fans are hoping the same thing is going to happen today. Ole Miss comes into this matchup ranked No. 12 after the loss to Kentucky last week, and South Carolina is trying to repeat history from 2009.

No. 12 Ole Miss vs. South Carolina final prediction

The line for this game has not shifted a lot and has stayed in favor of the Rebels. Ole Miss comes in as the favorite, even though both of these teams have the same record, well, Ole Miss hasn't had their bye week just yet. The Rebels were exposed by Kentucky's defense last week and, in a sense, gave opposing teams a blueprint to beat them.

Gamecock fans will be looking at one certain player on the Ole Miss sideline, and that is former wide receiver Juice Wells, who spent two years at South Carolina before entering the transfer portal against and choosing the Rebels. While the team itself has been adamant about how they are not focusing on the storyline of Wells returning to Columbia, they are focusing on themselves and this game as a whole.

This is going to be a closer game than I think most people believe it will be and I believe the home crowd will help the Gamecocks pull off the upset today.
