The greatest player in the history of the South Carolina basketball program (and the greatest player in the history of the Las Vegas Aces/San Antonio Stars/San Antonio Silver Stars/Utah Starzz franchise) is A'ja Wilson. The two-time MVP and two-time WNBA Finals champion is having her best year in 2024 and could be in line for the most impressive season in league history.

As the best player in the world right now, it should come as no shock that A'ja Wilson has been chosen as one of the cover athletes for NBA 2K25. Wilson will be the solo cover athlete on NBA 2K25's WNBA Edition, and she will join Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum on the front of the All-Star Edition, a premium version of the game that comes with additional downloadable content.

The highly popular basketball game series has included the WNBA since NBA 2K21, and the franchise has released a WNBA Edition of the game each year since the 2022 version of the game. This is A'ja Wilson's first NBA 2K cover. She joins Sabrina Ionescu (2K24), Sue Bird and Diana Taurasi (2K23), and Candance Parker (2K22) as the only women ever to receive 2K cover features.

On track to being one of the best players ever to wear a WNBA uniform, A'ja Wilson is the unquestioned GOAT of the South Carolina basketball program.

During her career as the all-time leading scorer and shot-blocker ever to wear garnet and black, the Columbia native brought the Gamecocks their first National Championship, was the NCAA Tournament's Most Outstanding Player, won every National Player of the Year honor (sweeping the Wooden, Naismith, and Wade Trophy awards), made the All-American and All-SEC teams each year she was in college, was chosen as the SEC Freshman of the Year, received three SEC Player of the Year selections, and won the SEC Defensive Player of the Year Award twice.
